We’re excited to announce that Living Choice has entered into a contract to purchase the southern sector of Newbridge (between the new golf fairways and Maurice Rd) to create a high-quality “Over 50s Lifestyle Resort” for the Murray Bridge community.
Living Choice is well-known throughout Australia for delivering premium retirement villages and has recently introduced ‘Over 50s Lifestyle Resorts’ to their offering, with the first Lifestyle Resort currently under construction in Mount Barker.
There has been huge growth in Over 50s communities over the past five years and Living Choice aims to provide active, independent Over 50s a low-maintenance resort-style lifestyle, right here in Murray Bridge.
While the plans for the Murray Bridge Lifestyle Resort are not yet available, it is expected to offer the same standard as Living Choice Mount Barker, which consists of 215 architecturally designed homes, with a choice of thirteen 2 or 3 bedroom designs. The “Country Club” features an indoor heated pool and gymnasium, a surround-sound cinema, auditorium, library, art and craft studio, a kitchen and bar area, and a function room. There will also be a host of outdoor activities including yoga and bocce to name just a few. And, for those who love to travel, there will also be secure caravan and motorhome storage.
We are excited to welcome Living Choice to Newbridge and are confident they will deliver a premium community-focused resort that complements the existing Newbridge neighbourhood. We believe this will be a wonderful addition to Newbridge and the broader Murraylands region.
The owners of Living Choice, Ian Tregoning and Graham Hobbs, are well known in the region for their redevelopment of the $60 million award-winning Bridgeport Hotel. The Murray Bridge Over 50s Resort is expected to inject another $100 million of investment into the town, providing a multitude of jobs and opportunities for the region. Living Choice are hoping the initial civil works for the Murray Bridge Resort can commence in 2024.
Burke Urban remains committed to Newbridge and will deliver on all its promises in relation to construction and landscaping throughout the project. Construction of Stage 3 has recently been completed (including the final 10 Golf Lots), and Stages 4 & 5 civil construction is well underway. Stage 6 (the final stage at Newbridge) is expected to be approved by Council later this year and is forecast to commence construction in 2024. Our Design Manager will continue to assess and approve house designs until the last home in the final stage is completed. We will also continue to engage with the growing Newbridge community and help to connect all our residents to the neighbourhood, the town, and the region.
