The Murray Bridge Golf Club offers the community a place to relax, unwind and enjoy a drink or meal with family and friends whilst taking in the views of the beautiful green fairways. The 18-hole golf course is well regarded as one of the state’s most enjoyable country courses due to the natural landscape and majestic trees. Two new fairways will be added to the golf course, which will extend through the centre of the Newbridge residential development, upgrading it to a par 71 championship course. The Club will also be upgraded to include a new driving range and renovations to the bar, kitchen and restaurant facilities. Visitors are welcome with public booking details available on the website. Ramblers Combined Sporting Club
Known well for their 17 wins of the premierships within the River Murray Football League, the Ramblers Combined Sporting Club is one of Murray Bridge’s largest sporting clubs with independent Football, Netball and Cricket clubs.
Founded in 1931, the club focuses on creating a fun, family friendly environment for all ages to participate in. With junior programmes in Football, Netball and cricket, the club is determined to help develop the skills in young children, to keep them active and participating in the local community.
The Imperial Football Club is an Australian Rules Football club in the River Murray Football League that was founded in 1931. Throughout the years of social events, successful wins and a great sporting environment, the club has grown to include Netball and Cricket teams, diversifying the club with female and male players of all ages. Whilst all three clubs take their competitions very seriously, the teams aren’t shy on hosting social events for community members to get together, celebrate their sport and create lifelong memories.
River Murray Netball Association
Committed to promoting and developing netball throughout the River Murray region, River Murray Netball Association are affiliated with Netball SA and Netball Australia to increase skills and competition within regional towns. Murray Towns Cricket Association
There’s no denying that the Murraylands community loves cricket! With over 17 cricket clubs, and 7 different grades within the region, there is no shortage of finding the perfect group to hit the nets with! The Association also has volunteer and umpiring positions available for those who don’t want to get their whites dirty!
Murray Bridge United Football Club
Murray Bridge United is one of the oldest clubs in the Adelaide Hills Junior Soccer Association, with a rich history and tradition in providing an atmosphere where players thrive and are supported to develop into great players and community citizens. The Murray Bridge United clubrooms can be hired by the community for functions, special events, corporate meetings and club functions.
Murray Bridge Basketball Association
With both social and competitive leagues for women and men, as well as junior development programmes, and referee training, The Murray Bridge Basketball Association provides fantastic services for aspiring basketballers! Receiving $1.9m in Government funding in 2021, the Association plans to create a new $3.9m multi-use Regional Sports Stadium which will feature a fourth court along with change rooms, clubrooms and office space which is sure to increase sporting participation from the Murray Bridge and Murraylands community.
Murray Bridge Cods Swimming Club
Based at the Murray Bridge Swimming Centre located on the corner of Adelaide Road and Flavel terrace, The Murray Bridge Cods Swimming Club aims to encourage children from as young as 5 years, to swim well for fitness, fun and competition. While the club offers casual memberships for individuals wanting to use the outdoor facilities, the club also offers competitive programmes and championships throughout the year.
The Murray Bridge Rowing Club was first founded in 1909 and is one of South Australia’s oldest and most successful rowing clubs. With the recent upgrade to the club rooms, located along the Sturt Reserve frontage and overlooking the beautiful Murray River, the club hosts a range of social events, including ‘come and try’ days to engage and promote interaction with the local community.
As part of the recent upgrade, an art installation featuring vertical rowing oars invites visitors to learn about the Murray Cods – the 1924 champion rowing team who performed at the Paris Olympics which is a huge part of Murray Bridge’s history.
Murraylands Waterski Club is a member club of the Waterski SA Association, delivering slalom, trick and jump events to the River Murray community through the national organisation Wakeboard & Waterski Australia. Throughout the September – April season water sport lovers can participate in South Australian tournaments, ski clinics with accomplished coaches and open access to the club facilities for practice and improving development – perfect for those who have a need for speed!
With 10 acres of lawn alongside the River Murray, the Murraylands Aquatic Centre is the perfect place to stay and participate in a whole range of water-based activities. Whether you’re interested in canoeing, kayaking, knee boarding, sailing, or skiing, windsurfing and rowing, all activities are available under the supervision of the highly skilled instructors.
There are also camping and cabin facilities so participants can make the most of their stay!
After a 50-year hiatus for cycling in Murray Bridge, a new cycling club was founded in 2020 by a group of cycling enthusiasts. Although the club is still within its infancy, they have recently been affiliated with AusCycling and AusCycling SA, meaning that the club can now officially take memberships. The Murraylands Cycling Club is pivotal for the beautiful cycling trails within the region to be explored and visited by the local and wider community.
Murraylands Gymnastics Academy
Offering gymnastics for all ages, the Murraylands Gymnastics Academy has a range of programmes from pre-walkers to adults’ recreation and competition. With over 200 members, the permanently set up gymnasium focuses less on competition and more about creating an environment where community members can learn about their physical awareness, get active and enjoy the sport.
Murray Bridge Dance School – The Power of Dance
The Power of Dance was established in 2018 to provide the region with classical ballet, contemporary jazz, and musical theatre classes. The studio provides an environment where dance is celebrated by both recreational and competitive dancers. Whilst dancing is a wonderful way for members to stay active, it also helps students to develop team bonding skills, independent thinking and problem solving.
Originally founded on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Dance SA has now franchised nation-wide to deliver affordable, non-competitive dance programs to members of all ages. Murray Bridge & District Table Tennis Association
Try your hand at table tennis with the Murray Bridge & District Table Tennis Association, a passionate club that has been servicing the region for over 73 years. Although the winter period is their main competition, the association runs a summer ‘come and try’ program for everyone to brush up on their skills.
Murray Bridge Lawn Tennis Association
Another club situated along the beautiful Sturt Reserve, the Murray Bridge Lawn Tennis Association is an exciting recreational facility for all tennis lovers.
